I awoke early this morning. The air was crisp after an evening of rains. I smudged my house and went outside to give thanks for the day with the towering trees and the green grass as my witness. After several moments of stillness, I saw a rabbit in my neighbor’s yard. It was going about its business, unaffected that I was tuned into it. I thought about the significance of the rabbit in traditional cultures. When I think of rabbits, I think of a the animal children love. Observing them, it’s easy to tell that they are aware of everything going on around it. When a rabbit hears a noise, they stop, tune into it, and when the time is right, it moves again – usually pretty quickly. Traditionally, Native Americans associate the rabbit with creativity and growth. Rabbits are thought to remind us that it is through growth that we overcome fear.Aftermath live streaming film online
